An easy and enjoyable read - perfect for the holiday season, however it doesn't hold a candle to the first in the series.
A seriously festive and atmospheric read! Perfect for the holiday season and for cuddling up next to the fire while reading a book. This time Sterling takes readers to the countryside in Wales where a time-hop might just be in order.
This is the third book in Sterling's series that I've read - the first was my favourite, then the 2nd and this 3rd one I liked the least. The other two stories were more enemies to lovers, which I have to admit is more my cup of tea compared to friends to lovers.
This story was still quite sweet - Bowen was quite a loveable and honest guy while Tamsyn was a funny and capable woman. I think their pairing made sense and it felt like a natural relationship rather than a forced for plot one. However, some of the lines in this book were straight up cringey. I got annoyed rather quickly with how much both characters were like constantly commenting how much they loved the other in their heads - like we get it. Or when they couldn't do any normal activities without commenting on how they wanted to sleep with the other person. We readers understood they were attracted and interested in each other - from their first kiss it was obviously - but to mention it over and over didn't result in a tension build up, for me it was just annoying. The spicy scenes were pretty good, so no complaints there!
The ending was sweet and wrapped everything up nicely. I just wish more happened in this book, for some reason I can't shake the feeling that very little actually happened in this book - like it felt far too short and lacking in action, obviously there were multiple plot points but it just felt super sluggish and like over too quickly at the same time. Overall an enjoyable and easy read, plus the festive atmosphere was great for the holiday season!
